Thanks for the clarification, Steve. "Swedenborgian" can be yet another label. I too am not interested in labels, but rather BEING a follower of Christ. I still go back and forth about being "Christian," as that name has been hijacked by people, organizations and dogmas that are NOT what I know "Christian" to be. Still a quandary to me.

Welcome to the Freedom Church Network!

Sorry to start with a correction, but I am a Christian, not a "Swedenborgian" or "New Church" and I definitely don't believe that "real" followers of Jesus are "Swedenborgians". Real followers of Jesus Christ are Christians who acknowledge that He is God and seek to walk in His footsteps. Other than that though, I do agree with Clark that you certainly don't have to belong to an organization or institution to be a follower of Christ (although we all need community).

For myself, in 2005, I left my affiliations with denominational/institutional Christianity and founded the Second Advent Christian™ movement, whose only incorporation is the body of Christ and whose only constitution is the Word of God. More recently, I launched this network as a resource to other Christians like myself who are looking to evolve what the 21st century body of Christ can be. So, enough about me. Welcome aboard!

This is Steve Simons' work and it is distinct from his Second Advent site. The idea is that OF COURSE real followers of Jesus are Swedenborgians! See? You don't have to be labeled some way or belong to an organization to be Christian! I love it! And as for Kathleen, I confess I am not sure it is the Kathleen that is Steve's Mom or Steve's daughter of the same name! Peace! Clark
