I like Peter Devassy's thoughts:
The trinity has become an idol of thought.
And, with sincere humbleness, I am very clear that what I attribute to God inadvertently says just as much about myself.
I desire for my unity in the form of a body, soul a…

I heard a talk given by Bishop King in Bryn Athyn where he described the Trinity as God's Love in the heavens, his presence with us, and his love in our hearts. (If I have that correct!) After all, God is LOVE. I have never heard a more beautiful an…
I feel like I have taken a breath of fresh air after being under water for a long time. How glad I am (almost dancing) to have found people who believe as I do that there is one God and that He is the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm so happy to have read you…
You are right, there is only one God.
Interesting that you ask for Emanuel Swedenborg's words for the Trinity because His words for the Trinity are the same as those found in the Athanasian Creed. The Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is a fa…
I know that God is ONE. But the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is still mentioned in the Bible. I know that this is a big question, but how do the two statements work together?

Hello, Heidi. Your question about the Trinity is one I ponder too. If there is One God, and I believe there is, then why does it sound like there are three in places in the Bible? On the other hand, there are many other places in the Bible where Jesus states clearly that He and the Father are One. I sometimes wonder if the trinity passages jump out because so much doctrine in so many churches has emphasized that aspect rather than the oneness. As I am getting older, I have come to realize how much my reading in the Bible and Swedenborg is influenced by doctrines I have been taught. I have realized that rather than just looking at what the words mean to me as I read, I think of what I have been taught they mean. Sometimes it is wonderfully freeing and refreshing to try to come to His Word with a truly open mind to whatever He is telling me right then.
